A newly created website for GMB Remploy workers is now up and running.

This is a dedicated site operated and controlled by GMB Remploy Workers themselves. It contains information setting out the background to the current campaign to defend the Remploy factories from closure together with the GMB alternative plan to make Remploy a successful operation and to provide increased job opportunities for all disabled workers. As the campaign progresses the site will contain lots of news etc.

If your region has any news stories or plans any activities then please contact Les Woodward (Remploy National Convenor at: les.woodward@ntlworld.com) or any of the GMB Senior Stewards whose details can be found on the 'Contact Us' page.

Visit: www.gmbremploy.unionweb.co.uk to find out more about the Defend Remploy Factories from Closure campaign and make sure that colleagues and friends know about this exciting development.

ASDA in Gt Yarmouth

Mel Bean is the ULR at ASDA Gt Yarmouth. Recently she conducted some surveys and talked to work colleagues about learning interests. There seems to be a real buzz and enthusiasm from all employees from Gt Yarmouth site.
Hopefully in 2006 attitudes will change and the employer will see how positive working with rather than against Trade Unions can be.
