Compensation Claims for Asbestos Related Diseases

A GMB member exposed to Asbestos may not react at all. Unfortunately, 30, 40 or even 50 years later some of those exposed can develop an asbestos relates disease, including fatal conditions. The GMB has been at the forefront of campaigns to have asbestos imports banned.

Even now, with the ban in place the legacy of this Killer Dust will, sadly continue to haunt the lives of GMB members and their families and the GMB will continue to fight to have asbestos recognised, labelled and removed. This leaflet, prepared by Thompsons Solicitors, the UK's largest trade union personal injury law firm, describes the main asbestos conditions and how GMB members can get compensation.

Campaign for Justice for Asbestos Families

This is a campaign to demand equality for families affected by asbestos in England and Wales after it was revealed they are receiving tens of thousands of pounds less in compensation than their Scottish counterparts.

Please can you encourage GMB officials, reps, activists and indeed any GMB members to support the campaign by logging onto this page and entering their details on the e-petition:-
