The
Chelmsford offices services a geographical area covering the
whole of Essex and parts of East London. Certain membership
in parts of Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire is also covered.
Much of the work carried out by the Organisers working at
Chelmsford is Public Services based.
At present, three GMB Organisers work from the Chelmsford
office.
Dave
Powell is the Membership Development Officer based in Chelmsford.
He is responsible for GMB membership in all Local authorities
in Essex County, Unitary and District Councils, plus the London
Borough of Havering. He also covers all NHS in Essex and East
London (including Essex and London Ambulance Service) and
is, in fact, the Regional Lead Officer for NHS and for the
East of England Regional Provincial Council. Dave also services
membership in many companies that have taken over work previously
carried out by local authorities e.g. Parkwood Leisure, SLM,
Southend Care and Serviceteam. In industry, Dave services
membership in Harlow working at United Glass Ltd and QinetiQ.
Gary
Pearce has officer responsibilities that include Swissport,
Servisair, KLM Ground Services and Airfield Services at Stansted
and London City Airports. Gary is also responsible for membership
In British Airways at London Heathrow. Gary's responsibilities
also include a number of local companies in the local Essex
area.

Paul Campbell looks after GMB membership employed within the
Security Industry, including Oakington Reception Centre and
Yarl's Wood Immigration Detention Centre and is currently
the Lead Officer for Brinks. Paul also looks after gas members
within the London Region and various other local companies.
Cathy Holland is the newest member of the team having taken over from Mark Holland in March 2006. Cathy has responsibilities for all Essex County Council staff where she worked for almost 20 years in various departments before taking up this position, so she comes with a vast amount of experience and knowledge for this role.
The first lines of contact in the Chelmsford Office are the
Support Staff Sarah and Tracey, who will be happy to help with
queries or ensure problems are passed on to the appropriate
person if necessary. |
