IN THE LONDON REGION

GMB Political

GMB want to help our members get involved in politics at all levels. Standing for your local council in devolved elections, for Westminster or European Parliaments are good ways of making sure that the views of ordinary working people are heard in the corridors of power.

The National Political Team are here to help you through the process of standing in elections. Please click here to visit the National Political web page for more information.

As well as the industrial activities which the union takes forward, we are also very active in the political arena.

The GMB has a proud history of working as an affiliate member of the Labour Party - fighting for fairness, equality and social justice on important issues like the rights of workers and housing.

GMB recently agreed that every branch should have it’s own political activist, linking into the work the London Region are doing.  If you want more information on what this role will mean please email politicallondon@gmb.org.uk

There is also political training available for branches and activists who want to get active – to register for this, please contact politicallondon@gmb.org.uk

GMB also has its regional political activists list, which you can become a part of.  This means you can be kept up to date with political activity happening in the London region.

The current Tory led coalition attacks on terms and conditions in the workplace and services for the most vulnerable in our society need a strong political fightback against them.  You can be part of that fightback.

Please fill in your details below to be added to the list.
